Menusha ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Lifeforce Libations LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, doing business as Menusha. We build and operate the Menusha iOS application ("the App") and the website at menusha.ai.

2. Information We Collect
We collect two types of information:
Information you provide directly:
- Account information: your name and email address (used for account creation and login)
- Health profile: health conditions, wellness goals, dietary restrictions, allergies, food preferences, and eating style — provided by you during onboarding and profile setup
- Scan data: restaurant menu images and OCR-extracted menu text from your scans
- Usage feedback: dish ratings, rating tags, and notes you leave after meals
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: scan timestamps, scan counts, and subscription status — used for rate limiting and billing
- AI interaction logs: the prompts sent to the AI and responses received, retained for quality assurance, debugging, and improving recommendation accuracy
- Authentication data: Sign in with Apple tokens and Firebase Authentication session data
- Device information: operating system version and device type — collected by Firebase for crash reporting
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate personalised restaurant menu recommendations based on your health profile
- Improve the accuracy and relevance of recommendations over time using your scan history and ratings
- Manage your account, subscription status, and scan limits
- Authenticate your identity securely via Sign in with Apple or email
- Detect and fix technical issues in the app
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not use your health information for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the core functionality of the App.
4. AI Processing of Your Health Data
When you scan a restaurant menu, your health profile and scan history are transmitted securely to our backend infrastructure (Google Cloud / Firebase) and then to the Anthropic API (which powers our AI analysis). Your health information is used solely to generate your menu recommendations and is not retained by Anthropic for model training under our enterprise agreement.
AI interaction logs (including the health profile data included in prompts) are stored in our Firebase database for up to 12 months for quality assurance and debugging purposes, then automatically deleted.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your health information with advertisers or data brokers.
We share information only with the following service providers who help us operate the App:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — database, authentication, cloud functions, and storage infrastructure
- Anthropic — AI processing of menu analysis requests
- Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication; App Store subscription billing via StoreKit
We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Menusha, our users, or others.
6. Data Retention
- Account and profile data: Retained until you delete your account
- Scan records: Retained until you delete your account or manually delete individual scans
- AI interaction logs: Retained for up to 12 months, then automatically deleted
- Menu images: Stored in Firebase Storage; deleted when the associated scan is deleted or when you delete your account
7. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account and authentication credentials
- Your health profile and all personal information
- All scan records, menu images, and AI logs associated with your account
Deletion is irreversible. Some information may be retained in backup systems for up to 30 days before permanent deletion.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain uses of your data or to withdraw consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@menusha.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a resident of California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us to exercise these rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Menusha is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase Security Rules to enforce user-level data access controls, and authenticated API access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Medical Disclaimer
Menusha is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The information provided by the App is based on functional and integrative nutrition principles and your stated health profile. It is for informational purposes only and should not replace the advice of a qualified healthcare provider. Always consult your doctor, registered dietitian, naturopath, or other qualified healthcare professional for personalised medical guidance.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
